Job Description
Flipkart is looking for passionate and skilled Network Engineers to join its Network Engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, deploy, manage, and support world-class data center and backbone network infrastructure that powers millions of customer transactions every day.
As a Network Engineer, you will collaborate with network architects, software engineers, and cross-functional teams to build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure networking solutions for Flipkart's next-generation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage multi-vendor, multi-protocol data center and backbone networks.
Configure and maintain network monitoring and management systems.
Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to ensure service reliability.
Automate network operations and repetitive tasks using scripting and automation tools.
Participate in on-call support and resolve critical network incidents.
Work closely with architects, engineering teams, network vendors, telecom carriers, and facility partners.
Assist in designing scalable and highly available network infrastructure.
Contribute to technical discussions and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve network performance, security, and automation.
Required Technical Skills
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, and networking fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with data center network design and operations.
Knowledge of Internet technologies and routing concepts.
Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with scripting using Python or Bash.
Exposure to large-scale data center networks and data center interconnects.
Understanding of service provider networks and Internet peering.
Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible and REST APIs.
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in network engineering or infrastructure operations is preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
